Cardio or Weights?

So many people I know want to lose weight, so what do they do?? They go out and buy an exercise bike, treadmill, or elliptical! This is definitely a step in the right direction, but personally it makes me CRAZY!!
The best way to lose weight and keep it off while toning too is to do a program that involves both cardio and weights!
Lifting weights is super important and especially as we age!! We start to slowly lose muscle and bone density, so lifting helps maintain that. BONUS....It also gives a greater calorie burn for a full 24 hours after your workout since your metabolism is amped up?
So what do you do if you don’t have time to do cardio AND lift weights?
I recommend doing HIIT training workouts at least 3 days a week! HIIT stands for High Intense Interval Training. Don’t let those words scare you though. It totally accommodates all fitness levels.
What exactly is HIIT?
It is a form of interval training, a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise (cardio) with less intense recovery periods (weights). This type of training increases your gains quicker since you maintain a high heart rate even when you’re doing less intense bursts of weight lifting.
How long does it take?
I recommend doing at least 3 HIIT workouts a week for 20-30 mins a session. It doesn’t take long if the workout is effective and you are working to your max.
So where do I begin?
