Can Stress Cause Belly Fat?

Too much stress causes your body to release, cortisol, a hormone that deposits fat deep in the abdomen. There have been several studies done that show that "mindful" people are 25% less likely to be obese and a pound less Ab fat than their not-so-Zen counterparts. Here's what you can do to zap tension instantly and it only takes 5 minutes a day. Close your eyes, place your hands over your belly, and focus all your thoughts on your core as the foundation of your energy and strength. Breathe in deeply through your nose for up to 5 minutes (more if you have time).
